At the beginning of the 19th century, one of the most interesting pages of Portuguese Wine was born, with the launch of a wine that would become an icon, the target of covetousness, but which was always kept, willingly, out of the spotlight. .
Its creator, Alexandre de Almeida, imported the concept of combining luxury hotels with a wine cellar and his own wine, thus creating the very rare and historic Buçaco wines, produced in the beautiful Palácio do Bussaco, in the mountains north of Coimbra. .
These are wines that have not adopted modernism and that have enormous aging potential, being able to remain in the bottle for decades.
