This wine associates its quality with the name of the Carthusian monks who, since 1587, have practiced a solitary life of prayer at the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli in Évora. It results from a careful selection of grape varieties from the oldest vineyard plots of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation.
It was first produced in 1987.
