This wine originates from the old vineyards neighboring the Vale de Mendiz winery, in the Pinhão river valley. Where once concentrated Port wines emerged, a new era demonstrates the versatility of these vineyards to produce wines with little concentration of color, but which is greatly complemented by the complexity of the nose and elegance in the mouth. The color is extremely light and open. The nose is marked by notes of cherry, tobacco, graphite, a slight smoky character, leather, spices and aromatic herbs. Structure is the definition of elegance. And the aftertaste is almost spicy.
