Quinta das Bágeiras Garrafeira Red 2019, 75cl
The grapes for this wine come from very old vines (over 90 years old). They are fermented for 5 to 8 days in an open mill without de-stemming (the berries are not removed from the bunch). Afterwards, reassembly is carried out with wooden masses, several times a day, until they reach the correct intensity. The wine then finishes fermenting in old wooden barrels. While it rests, it is cleaned and aged in the same barrels for around 18 months. It is bottled without any fining or filtering. All these processes are done manually. It is a wine that is only produced in years of exceptional quality.
